Three-phase smart charging with the flexibility of a Type 2 socket
The Rolec Zura 22kW combines higher-output three-phase charging with a universal Type 2 socket. Connected to a suitable 400V three-phase supply, the charger can provide up to 22kW AC to vehicles capable of accepting that charging rate.
Unlike the tethered Zura, there is no permanently attached lead. The driver connects a compatible charging cable when required and can remove it again after charging. This gives customers control over cable length, makes the charging lead easier to replace independently and leaves the unit free from a fixed cable between charging sessions.
The Zura also suits installations where charging needs to be managed rather than simply switched on and off. Plug & go, mobile app and RFID operation give different approaches to user access, while OCPP 1.6 allows connection with compatible chargepoint management systems.

Check the Three-Phase Supply
Confirm that the property has a suitable three-phase electrical supply and enough available capacity for the required charging output.
The vehicle's onboard AC charger should also be checked because a vehicle limited to 7.4kW or 11kW will not use the full 22kW available from the charger.
Because this model uses a socket, it also measures the distance between the proposed mounting point and the vehicle so a suitable Type 2 cable can be selected.

Design the Charging Circuit
Install the Rolec Zura on a suitable wall or compatible mounting post and complete the circuit in accordance with Rolec's latest instructions.
Built-in PME, overcurrent and DC 6mA protection form part of the charger, but the qualified installer remains responsible for the complete electrical design.
Where dynamic load balancing is required, include the appropriate CT clamps and cables in the installation specification.

Configure Charging and Connectivity
Choose the charging method required by the customer or site operator.
The Zura Socket can operate using:
plug & go;
a compatible mobile app; or
RFID-controlled charging.
For managed installations, connect the unit through 4G, Wi-Fi or Ethernet and configure the selected OCPP 1.6-compatible CPMS.
Confirm MID metering, load-management settings, renewable-energy integration and user access before completing the handover.
