GOVERNMENT GRANT SCHEMES

UK Government offers Electric Vehicle Charging Point grants through the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) formerly OLEV

The grants available depend on usage and are categorised as follows:

  • Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
  • On-street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS)
  • EV chargepoints grant

WCS

The workplace charging scheme is voucher based support towards upfront costs of electric vehicle charging point installation and is suitable for businesses, not-for-profits and public sector organisations.

ORCS

The On street residential charge scheme is for local authorities requiring grant support for installing on-street residential charging points.

EV chargepoint grant

The EV chargepoint grant provides funding of up to 75% towards the cost of installing electric vehicle smart chargepoints at domestic properties across the UK. It replaced the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) on 1 April 2022.

Electric vehicle charging point installers are required to apply for authorisation directly from OZEV. If successful EV Charge point installers will be issued with official OZEV documentation and allocated a unique installer number; which must be made available to you upon request. Always check they have the necessary credentials.

Volta Charge Point is a supplier of EV charge points and can offer a variety of different OZEV approved manufacturers to find the product which suits your needs and budget.
