FAQ

Why choose a socketed charger instead of a tethered charger?

A socketed charger offers greater flexibility, allowing you to use your own charging cable. This can be particularly useful if you own multiple EVs, replace your vehicle in the future, or prefer to store the cable separately when it’s not in use.

Is a 7.4kW charger fast enough for home charging?

Yes. A 7.4kW charger is the standard choice for most UK homes with a single-phase electricity supply. It provides reliable overnight charging and is suitable for the vast majority of daily driving requirements.

Does the charger receive software updates?

Yes. Connected via Wi-Fi, the waEV-Charge EV1s can receive over-the-air firmware updates, helping ensure continued performance, security and access to the latest smart charging features.

Does the charger require Wi-Fi to work?

No. The charger can still charge your vehicle without Wi-Fi. However, an internet connection is recommended to access smart features such as scheduled charging, app control, firmware updates and smart tariff integration.
